Bucket List Update and a Career Change

I'm so excited to be able to mark THREE items off my Bucket List - I received my Group Exercise Certification (I actually received it a while ago, so I have no idea why I'm just not checking it off), I read the Great Gatsby (hopefully I'll write a review soon!) and I've put myself in a career position to directly benefit others lives...

I'm so excited, and so proud to announce that I'll be a media teacher at a school district in the DFW area! Media has been my passion since high school, and fairly recently, I felt the Lord calling me to be a teacher! So for the past three months, I've taken a lot of time to dedicate to my certification. The journey was incredibly smooth as I TOTALLY relied on the Lord and His faithfulness.

Everything fell into place even better than I could have possibly hoped. Through Facebook, I reconnected with a family-friend from my hometown, who happens to be a superintendent at the school which I was eventually hired. We got together and began talking about my career path. When I happened to mention that my dream job would be in media production, his face lit up and he mentioned that they were trying to build a extensive media program, including a videoboard for their football stadium. It sounded like the perfect job for me, and so far, it really has been.

Here's the plan:

I'll be the primary videographer and editor for the district, then during the Spring semester, I'll begin teaching media classes! Then if all goes as planned, in the Fall of 2014, we'll have a videoboard installed in the football stadium, and I'll teach the media students how to operate the equipment for the football games every Friday night! It will be a blast, and is truly a dream job!
