Baby G Update: 18 Weeks

How far along: 18 weeks

Total weight gain: I'm up about 10 pounds. I had to weigh myself at a doctor's office when I went in for a stupid hip/leg injury.
Maternity clothes: Still rockin' my regular clothes, albeit they're tighter than usual. I don't wear anything really form-fitting anymore because that would totally give away the farm, but I'm impressed at how many clothes (especially pants and jeans) that I can still wear!

Sleep: I actually haven't been motivated to sleep much this week. I haven't been tired and don't really want to sleep.
Miss anything: Not that I can think of.
Movement: Towards the end of the week I started feeling little taps
Food cravings: This candy craving is sticking around, which I don't mind.

Anything making you queasy or sick: I'm still staying away from fake dairy. Although frozen yogurt sounds good, I'm not going to attempt it.
Have you started to show yet: Yep, so I'm getting better at disguising it at work.
Gender: We're having a little boy!
Wedding rings on or off: Still on
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy or depressed. I'm becoming depressed more frequently. I think it has to do with my hormones because I'm not sad or scared of anything regarding the baby. It's just how I feel.
Looking forward to: Telling the remainder of my students!

Exercise: So I forced myself into an injury and am waiting on my hip to heal before I start running again. Even walking is a chore. I've pretty much not been able to do anything with ease.

Other fun news: Mother's day was on Sunday, May 10 and I received the sweetest little gift! I had been praying that the Lord would make it more obvious that the baby was actually real and causing me to feel the way I'm feeling. So laying in bed on Mother's day I could feel the exact outline of the baby right below my belly button. He fit perfectly inside my hand. I don't think he liked me pushing around on him though because one second I could feel him, then the next he was gone (and must have moved to my bladder because I almost immediately had to go to the bathroom). It was a real answer to my prayers.

Then the following day the students in my advanced (also the only students who know about the baby) surprised me with Mother's Day presents! I got a card that says "baby boy," a bouquet of flowers, a bear (which we've named Teddy G) and a block letter G with "baby" written on the side :) I have some pretty sweet kids!

By the way, they weren't wearing masks! Just covering their faces for their protection :)
